BROOKLYN – BSE Global, parent company of Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Nets and 2024 WNBA Champion New York Liberty, today announced Planet Brooklyn, a first-of-its-kind two-day music festival and experience, coming to Brooklyn this summer.
Founded by BSE Global, the festival seeks to highlight artists who represent the cultural and creative diversity found within the borough of Brooklyn and the varied genres of music they represent. Over the course of two days, a slate of both free and ticketed musical performances will take place across three iconic entertainment venues in the borough – Barclays Center, Brooklyn Paramount and BAM – on Saturday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 24.
With more than 150 distinct cultural identities in Brooklyn, the borough stands as one of the most culturally diverse communities in the world. Planet Brooklyn will reflect the unique role Brooklyn plays to influence music and culture globally, while fostering togetherness and uplifting local artists and businesses that make up the heart of the borough. Building on the success of bringing diverse programming at Barclays Center, which was ranked a top-grossing venue in the U.S. in 2024 by both Pollstar and Billboard, Planet Brooklyn is another example of how BSE Global is continuing to bring the culture of Brooklyn to life across various mediums, whether through live experiences or the recently launched Type.Set.Brooklyn digital media company.
“Brooklyn is a unique microcosm of the world—both a physical place and a state of mind—where global cultures meet, inspire, and expand each other,” said DeJuan Wilson, Chief Products and Experiences Officer at BSE Global. “Planet Brooklyn was created to spotlight artists, creators, and innovators from around the globe who represent the borough’s rich diversity, while connecting people through the creative energy of Brooklyn.”
Planet Brooklyn performances will be enhanced by a free two-day block party in the streets near the three participating venues. The block party will be comprised of hundreds of local food vendors and merchants that also reflect the diversity and creativity of the borough. Open both days of the festival, the block party will also feature multiple stages where attendees can enjoy free performances from rising musical talent from the borough. Local businesses and vendors interested can find more information here.
