BROOKLYN — Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment (BSE), parent company of the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty and Barclays Center, in collaboration with the Gérard Basset Foundation, today announced the launch of the Brooklyn Wine Club Hospitality Internship, a paid, hands-on opportunity for aspiring wine and hospitality professionals. Running from Oct. 8, 2025 to May 14, 2026, this internship offers one selected candidate a unique chance to work directly within a premier wine and hospitality initiative in Brooklyn, New York.

BSE’s Brooklyn Wine Club is a membership-based community designed to bring wine lovers together though curated tastings, unique events, immersive trips and premium experiences that celebrate a shared passion for wine and for Brooklyn. The Brooklyn-based internship includes 20–30 hours of paid weekly work and provides an immersive experience across wine operations, event planning, marketing, and arena hospitality. Interns will contribute to strategic development, support live events, and work closely with Shanon Ferguson, Chief Hospitality Officer at BSE.

The program is offered in partnership with the Gérard Basset Foundation, giving the intern access to a global network of mentors and industry leaders. The final candidate will be selected by a panel of judges including Ferguson, as well as Nina Basset, Romané Basset, and Beeta Soltani, Vice President of Talent Acquisition at BSE.

“This internship represents everything my father believed in — mentorship, excellence, and opening doors for underrepresented voices in wine and hospitality,” according to Romané Basset, co-founding trustee and director of operations at the Gérard Basset Foundation. “We’re honoured to support this next generation of talent alongside Brooklyn Wine Club.”

“We are thrilled to launch the Brooklyn Wine Club Hospitality Internship with the Gerard Basset Foundation, who share our commitment to equity, education, and excellence in wine,” said Shanon Ferguson, Chief Hospitality Officer at BSE. “Brooklyn Wine Club is more than a wine program—it’s a growing cultural platform dedicated to building a new kind of wine community in Brooklyn, one rooted in access, hospitality, and belonging. Our intern will play a foundational role in this vision, gaining hands-on experience while actively shaping the inclusive and forward-thinking future we are building in the borough through wine.”

Applications are now open and will close on Aug. 20, 2025. Interested candidates must submit a completed application, a 750-word personal statement, and a signed letter of recommendation from a senior wine or hospitality professional.

The program actively encourages applicants from all backgrounds, with consideration given to those from underrepresented or economically disadvantaged communities. Applicants
