DJ Khaled Becomes First-Ever Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Artist Ambassador

BROOKLYN (Oct. 16, 2017) — New deal alert! Record producer and social media sensation DJ Khaled has been named as the first-ever Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment (BSE) artist ambassador.

“DJ Khaled is today’s ultimate influencer,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment. “He will help us further transcend the lines between the pop culture, sports and music communities, deepening BSE’s brand connection to a younger audience, hip-hop fans and sports enthusiasts alike. I’d like to thank our good friends at Roc Nation for their support in facilitating this partnership.”

As BSE’s artist ambassador, Khaled will bring his social media prowess to BSE’s accounts, including hosting takeovers on the company’s various Snapchat pages, and he will appear at a variety of events at Barclays Center and NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Drawing from his strong connections in the music community, Khaled will help curate the artist lineup for a show at Barclays Center and DJ events at the Coliseum on Long Island. In addition, he will activate Billboard Lounge at Barclays Center following Brooklyn Nets games, with the first appearance scheduled for opening night on Friday, Oct. 20.

The alliance further expands on BSE’s longstanding relationship with Roc Nation, which manages the hip-hop superstar in all areas of the entertainment and music business.

In 2006, he launched his record label, We The Best Music Group. His most recent album, Grateful, has been certified RIAA Platinum, and its hit single, Wild Thoughts, which is also Platinum, was in the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 11 straight weeks.

Khaled’s larger-than-life social media presence has earned him more than 6 million Snapchat followers, 7 million Instagram followers, and 3.6 million Twitter followers, who tune in for his daily inspirational messages on fatherhood, working hard, and achieving success. Khaled’s Snapchat alone is one of the most globally watched accounts, with each post earning 3 to 4 million views apiece.

Khaled will serve as an honorary member of BSE’s Advisory Board, which is comprised of more than 40 top music and entertainment executives, through which he will consult on digital marketing initiatives.

Barclays Center has featured performances by Khaled on many occasions, including at major shows like TIDAL X: 1020, and Power 105.1’s Powerhouse in 2015 and 2016.
